Hi,
I wonder if there is a way to make Mediaportal more friendly to use with simple remote control, i.e. remote with only 6 keys: 4 directional keys (left, right, up, down), enter/select and esc/back. I can't find how, for example, to pause/play, zoom in/out, fast forward and more without mapping remote keys to these operations.
The best HTPC software I know are these which enable access to all the features using on-screen buttons, and let the user navigate to them using the remote. Take a look at SesamTV or meedio as example. XBMC's video player is also a good one.
Mediaportal alternative is to map some remote control keys to keyboard keys and then remember (this is the problem) what each remote key does in each screen.
Thanks.
