I have the Hauppauge 45 button silver remote. When using it with MediaPortal in Windows Vista Ultimate it doesn't work properly all the time. Through trial and error I discovered that when I don't use the remote for about 15 seconds it won't work anymore. I have to restart MediaPortal to get it to work again. But then again, when I don't use it for about 15 seconds it stops responding and I have to restart Mediaportal again. I don't have this problem in other applications like JRiver Media Center or Windows Media Center.

Hi I have the same remote, and I don't have this problem. However, I have a problem that may be related (I don't know). But after resuming from hibernation or standby, my remote wont work, then I have to kill MP and restart it.

I use IR32.exe version 2.51.24342
I use 2.51.24286, so yours must be newer than mine. Where did you get this file from?

Very strange things happen. While trying to find a solution for my problem (remote not responding after 15 seconds inactivity) I deselected Skip steps +/- 15 and +/- 30 seconds in MP Setup > General > Skip steps. Then I started MP and guess what? The remote keeps responding after longer inactivity. To check if this was really the cause of the problem I selected both Skip steps in MP Setup again and restarted MP. And now the remote also keeps working!!!! I don't understand what's going on.
Problem solved (at least for the time being), but how and why?????
Update: And now the problem is back again. I haven't done anything in between, but suddenly the problem is back again. Remote not responding after 15 seconds inactivity. I really don't know what's going on. I have no such problems at all with other applications like JRiver Media Center or Windows Media Center, so it must be something related to MediaPortal.
