My old ATi Remote Wonder I is in dire need of replacement. It worked fine for a few years with the X10 drivers btw.

Now my local shop has the following remotes:
Logitech UltraX
Logitech Harmony 525,555,785,885,895
Microsoft MCE remote

My personal preference would be a RF remote but those are pretty hard to find apparantly. Which would you buy from these, or would you find another shop with a better selection :)

The MCE remote works out of the box, the other ones listed might need quite some work to configure, as they are not natively supported by MP, but can imitate keystrokes afaik.

So if you want true out of the box experience, get an MCE one. It's quite some good quality as well and includes 2 blaster eyes to control external set top boxes. If possible, be sure to get the European/Australian (non-US) version, which has 5 additional buttons, which can be quite handy to have. But I guess you're from Belgium, shouldn't be a problem then if you buy it in a local shop.

If you want to control other apps as well, you might wanna go for a Logitech Harmony. Cannot comment further on those, tho.

Hmm..... I have a RF remote (X10 / Medion ver). I love it; looks great, neat layou etc, but: It does not always resopond! So I am thinking about replacing it with the MCE remote (IR) - which at least responds well (and inckudes blaster).

afaik the Harmony remotes also need an IR blaster from the MCE remote in order for them to control a pc, since they don't have one included (the included usb base is just for programming them and charging)

So.. go first with the MCE, works sweet with MP, and if you have your eyes on the Harmony you can upgrade later

Thx for the suggestions, I guess that's what I'll do, too bad about the IR over RF thing tho, maybe for next time then :)

Okay you should maybe change the channel of your remote (and receiver). I am using it as well from the start and I still like it. No glitches whatsoever. Unfortunatly I can not use it to turn on the computer or to get it to wake up. That is my main disadvantage. But the rest (Layout, Usability etc) is great.
