G'day MP dewds,
firstly thanks to everyone who has played a part in getting MP where it is today, brilliant application with brilliant plugins.
My request for a plugin comes from a need to sort, categorise and display my sport recordings, dvd's and ripps.
I watch and enjoy many different sports, AFL (aus football league, as well as individual state leagues), NHRA, Rugby, Netball, NFL amongst others, while movies are handled ok(ish) by imdb and tv eps are handled well by the My TVSeries plugin there doesn't seem (to me anyways) of displaying my sports in anything like the same way.
I would like to have a plugin similar to the My TVSeries plugin, but where the My TVSeries hits an external database I would like to have a local database that individual users can add their own content like banners, icons, information basically the stuff mymovies and My TVSeries does but for sport.
The plugin would need to have a local database as the sheer variety of sport on a wide variety of broadcasters would make the construction of a online database undesirable.
I understand something like this has the potential to be a big task, but from having a look around the media centre world there doesn't seem to be anything like this to handle sport.
I have no programming experience at all except some .html, I do do (hehe) Artwork, logos and webart etc, while I could provide limited help programming wise I am totally willing to provide what help and support that I can, I would have no problems creating banners and broadcaster icons etc for others and their favorite sports.
there are many genres of broadcasting and video entertainment that don't fit into the My TVSeries and movie database system and perhapses this type of plugin can be left up to the individual on how and what they populate the content side of it, a plugin that would fill in the gaps between My TVSeries and movie database system, one that can deal with all the niche Video content available to us.
