    Hi,

I am running TV server on a PIII-1 GHz machine with 512 MB of RAM. I have a MSI DVB-T USB stick in the server. When I record DVB the CPU peaks at 100% and the picture now and then (every 2-4 seconds) have delays. The requirements for the DVB stick is PIII 800Mhz. But does anyone know what the requirements for TV server and DVB recording is?

Does anyone know if buing a PCI DVB-T card would solve the problem due to less CPU use?

    Hope someone can help.

    Regards

    Brian

Is this trying to watch TV on server or client. (Dx9 Graphics card rqd)

Is the USB port on the server USB 2.0. if not a PCI based card would be a lot faster.

This is when I watch TV on the client which have ATI FireGL V5250 - 256/512 MB RAM.

The server is only having an onboard 2D Graphics card.

I have only USB 1.1 in the server, but has installed a PCI card with 4 USB 2.0 ports. That have helped from no picture at all to the delayed ones I have now.

But maybe a PCI card would be faster than a USB stick in a USB PCI card.

    Regards

Might, just might be a limit of the motherboard, unfortunately the only way of testing is to plug a DVB-T card in, also before you do anything else move the USB board to another slot if possible to see if there are any IRQ problems.

Good luck with this one, as the only way to prove anything is to try.

I have now uninstalled TV server and SQL server Express and reinstalled both again. The latest TV server build of course. Now it is working with 30-40% CPU utilization and no delays in picture and sound. So it seems to be the trick.
