Response times long.... (1 Viewer)

Dear AJ,

I am quite often experiencing longer response (6-10 seconds) times with the skin up to a "Mediaportal does not respond" in the header line of the window when starting myTV / changing to other modes, inkluding sytem "hangs" with a required re-start.

Additionally the desktop shows up when I am switching channels in the myTV view and when I am starting another movie while not having stopped the other one.

Is anybody experiencing similar behaviours of the system with this skin ?

Other skins seem to have less response time and be more stable at present.
Have you received any similar feedback till now ? Do you have any ideas what might be a good starting point to solve this ?

I am running an AMD X2 4200 + 2GB Client with Vista Ultimate and my server is a 3,5 GB 4000+ AMD 3450 ATI Backbone. Everything is running over a dLAN Network with 85 MBIT`s.

So performance should usually not be the issue here.

Any hints would be appreciated.

Dear AJ,
I did some testing with AEON.

No delays and no screen frame messages "not responding" popping up.

Have you changed something "drastic" between the Release 5 and the Release 6 ?

Will keep testing....but seems that I am alone with this topic.

I had this (on a diffetent skin) with VMR9 so I switched to EVR and it went away. I think it started when I upgraded my ATI graphics drivers to 8.8

Dear AJ,

my tests have shown that the problem is happening selecting the myvideos and the mymusic buttons to navigate to the corresponding page.

Two options:
My server does not provide the needed information quick enough and causes the problems
or there is a tiny issue with the two skin pages - what I do now doubt ....

Any idea from your side ?
Mixture of the two mentioned possibilities also realistic ?

Mea maxima culpa....

.....it was the EVR Video Renderer causing these issues...

Maybe it helps someone facing this behaviour some day.
