Resrart needed and missing files (1 Viewer)

on the details tab it shows restart is needed but how do i do that for the database file?

it seems to display stuff one time and goes away another time i use Media Portal

current series being used are The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy mini-series and The Odyssey seasons 1-3, haven't tried more than that since i seem to have problems for some reason.

anything i can do?

The 'Restart is Needed' only if you change the location of your database file. Ensure your database is indeed in the path specified, if not ensure that you have write permissions to that directory.

ah okay thanks.

but what about the missing shows every so often? would that be Media Portal? StreamedMP or what?

I seem to have to re-import the files when that happens. is there a way to fix that?

Im not sure about the missing shows, do you have your files locally or remote. Maybe the media is offline when you start mediaportal so it removes it from your library.

its on the second hard drive so it should be locally

how could it be offline?

Best thing you can do is attach logs just after this happens. There might be some clues in there.

I'll post something when it happens again. I also have to redo the naming of the series anyway

No, you can choose Debug in TVseries configuration (General Tab)

I have a similar problem... I'm using a "shared" database with UNC. so 2 Clients are accessing the database at the same time. Sometimes it seems, that MyTVSeries refuses the connection for any reason. It only shows "No items". Restarting both MP-Clients (just MP, not the whole system), the series appear again.

Think this is related to DB access - open and close?
