I've found that when playing a video and I hit the back button on my MCE remote it goes the the previous menu and continues to play the movie in a small window. How do I restore it to fullscreen again?

My TV PC is more a cast-off on older hardware (a 'Quiet PC' i5 4690, 16GB ram, 2xSSD 1xHDD, system graphics), mainly as a cheap way...
So, you're power cycling the TV, but not putting the PC to sleep ?
In General => Startup/Resume settings, try checking "Ignore Windows resolution/size changes"
In Codecs and Render, try selecting the specific audio device rather than "Default DirectSound device"

I just updated from 1.37 to 1.38. MediaPortal 1.38 exits abruptly when stopping video playback. I did three tests;
