Hello,

I am going to buy/build a new htpc for my girlfriend. It will be mounted behind the TV (Vesa-Mount) so I need a remote without infrared.

I've seen some X10 MCE Remotes, but the availibility of most models is bad. I thought about a bluetooth solution, but I could not find any bluetooth-remote.

Can you recommend a RF or bluetooth remote to me?
It should be easy to setup and easy to use. Price should not be to high, because the budget for the whole system is not that big.

Edit: I forgot an other must-have feature: it should be able to wake-up the htpc from standby with the remote!

Great regards and thanks in advance,

I have been really pleased with the RI Mini keyboard, which while not strictly speaking a remote, does what you want by the sounds of it. It can bring an HTPC out of suspend IF your USB supports this.

There's some other threads here about RF remotes, and some interesting ones out there - I just happen to have this one, and like it, although one person said they found it a little unresponsive when it had not been used for a long period of time.

I use a PS3 Bluetooth remote via EventGhost to control MP, but it's not simple to set up.

Why not use a remote IR sensor ?

    Hi!

This is the question I also ask.
If you take a very small ir-receiver you can place it almost hidden under the tv. The connection to the HTPC you realise with an USB cable.
If you are interested in, have a look at my Mini-USB RC6 ir-receiver. With a small glue dot you can place it almost invisible...

    Best regards AEOne
