Hi,

Forgive the Noob-like questions, but I'm having a little problem in running the compiled version of MP as a client (I have a TV server/client set up).

Prior to compiling the source, I tested my set up with the precompiled builds (ie. installing MP 0.2.2.0, then latest SVN and finally the TvServer plug in). This seemed to work fine - ie. It connected to the TV server and I got video, epg and channel data fine.

So knowing that was working, I uninstalled all this. I then compiled the same SVN build of MP. I then copied over the TvServer plug-in files into the same folder structure, and assumed this would work the same... It didn't :)

The compiled app runs fine, but I get no video or audio - just a black screen. I get the EPG and channel data fine though, so there's some communication with the server. Also, If I click on the 'TV Streams' button on the client, it shows that it's streaming the channel to the client!

I also noted that the 'My TV' top level menu item is not there, instead it's hidden away in the 'Plugins' section.

Is it not just a simple case of compiling and running the application? Obviously, the installer is doing something extra, other than copying the files in to the MP folder. I just need to know what I need to do to make my compiled version work the same as the installed version.

Basically, I want to set up a workflow for myself that allows me to compile an MP client and run it easily. So, any tips would be most appreciated! :D

Sorry if this makes no sense. :)

Cheers,
Taz.

I had similar problems, the issue was that I was missing some of the configuration files, so what I did was install the latest release, then copy my compiled versions over the top and it then all worked fine.

    HTH.

Yeh, that's what I've resorted to do for now.

But it bugs me why compiling and running the latest SVN doesn't work with the TV server. I just get blank video/audio.

If anyone can give me some pointers on how to actually create a 'Setup' with the latest SVN that works, that would help. I can't seem to find a 'Setup' project for MP anywhere?

I thought I was onto something when I noticed with the latest SVN install, that it ran a couple of batch files to copy and register some DLL's. I grabbed these batch files and tried them on 'virgin' PC with my compiled version. Didn't work :(

I think it's got something to do with registering some DLL's or something, so any clues would help.

I can't be the only one tried to get a compiled version with TvServer working surely!?

    Cheers,
    Taz
