I am new to Media Portal as of a month ago. I am pretty confident in my computer skills but I can't for the life of me get the TV to work properly. I have a Pinnacle HD TV hybrid tuner card which works OK in its own software and is MCE compatible. I set it up as a hybrid card in TV Serer and it scan channels ok (takes forever). When I start Media Portal and try to watch TV, I can sometimes watch one channel for a short time before it freezes but most of the time, Media Portal freezes immediately and I have to restart it. I've had this same problem in 1.0.1 and 1.0.2. Is it that my Pinnacle HD tuner card just won't work in TV Server. Should I purchase a hauppauge 2250 or am I just doing something wrong? Thanks for any help.

i'd be tempted to deselect the analogue server so it is not used
also check the os drive is not full of recordings from crashed timeshifting, think the default path for this is c:\docsansettings\allusers\appdata\mp\tvserver\recordings, move it to the bigger non os drive

Thanks for the ideas! I'll check to see if my video drivers are updated. I am currently using a secondary sata II drive to store all my videos, tv recordings, etc. but I will try deleting the recordings to see if it helps.

Fixed TV crash

I figured out what was causing the TV to crash. I set up the card as a hybrid but didn't put the fm radio tuner in the hybrid list. Aparrently the Pinnacle hybrid card cannot decode TV and radio simultaniously. After adding the fm radio tuner into the hybrid list for my card, it seemed to stop the crashing problem. One new problem however, is that the TV tuning doesn't come in as clearly or play as smoothly as it does when going straight to my TV rather than through Media Portal. I am assuming that this is due to the card. Anyone have any suggestions?
