I am trying to remove my TV and replace it with MP as i use it for everything but a few tv shows i watch on SKY (UK) I have a Leadtek DTV2000 H and have put the s-video output from my SKY+ box into it. BUT on my tv I can read scrolling writing from the news but on my monitor it is kinda jumpy or somthing and I can't read the scrolling writing. Any idea's?

I don't know if it is because my TV is using a SCART cable and the TV card in my PC is using a S-Video cable?

Or if it has somthing to do with the refresh rate difference between TV's and monitors..

Or the pixel difference shape / size... ?

Please help...

Don't have the power to move posts, but I'll try to answer your question...

Scart to SVideo should not be any issue. it's the same signal just a different connector (yes, I know Scart has extra signals in there too but they are on different pins).

I find that some codecs scroll the ticker text on news programs better than others, so I would experiment with that. Also, it may depend on whether your card has hardware encoding or software. Most cheaper cards rely on the CPU for the encoding and will give jumpier results depending on the CPU usage.

I'd be trying different codecs first though. I find the nVidea one is best for me, but will be different for each person.

Yes, this could be the cause (along with your choice of video decoder) - your monitor should run at a multiple of 25 Hz for smoothest TV viewing for PAL TV.
