Hi,

Is it possible to obtain the signal coming from the S-Video port in TV Server ?
Do I have to run an analog scan?
Is there other options to activate ?
How can MediaPortal set the coax and S-Video signal apart ?
Currently MediaPortal crashes during the analog scan...

I am in Belgium and the only way to have numerical TV is to use a box that decodes the signal.
That is why I cannot just scan for numerical channels.

Thanks in advance !

    - Yes :) (That's what I do)
Do I have to run an analog scan?
    - No, you have to manually add channels (or import a list). For channel change you need an IR-blaster
Is there other options to activate ?
    - Huh? I'll try to write a small "how to" a bit later. No promises though ...
How can MediaPortal set the coax and S-Video signal apart ?
    - I don't understand excactly what you mean. Coax is antenna/cable (frequency search), S-video and composite req. no tuning.

OK ... No screenshots ATM, but here goes:

In TVServer config -> TV Channels - [Add]:

    1. Tab - General: Enter name of channel
    2. Tab - Analogue: Enter channel no. on STB, Video source - SVHS #1* , Audio source: Automatic. Hit OK.
    3. Repeat for all channels

*if it does not work, try #2

    Hi,

I tried to add manually a channel this way but when I select this channel, it says the channel is not mapped to any card...
I also click on the button "add S-Video channels" in the section "TV servers/analog" and I obtain two channels :
    CVBS#1 on 2
    and S-Video#1 on 2
But when I select these channels in mediaportal, it says "No Supported Software Encoder Installed".
And when I try to preview the channels in the TV-Server configuration, it says "Preview failed:confused:WEncoderMissing".
Where could I get this ?

You have to assign the channels to the analogue card.
This is done under "TV mapping".

    What card are you using?

    SWEncoder

    Hi,

The mapping problem was indeed easily resolved.
But now I get the message SWEncoderMissing for each channel.
Do you know where this problem could come ?
I updated the drivers of the TV card yesterday and the problem still persists.

SWEncoder = Software encoder. I'm sure this will get installed if you install the TV software that comes form the manufacturer.

PS: Software encoding cards are a real PITA.

    Hi,

the TV software is installed. I am using it currently (because I can't use mediaportal).
    Is there another solution ?
