AW: SAF v6.00 (based on LAVF) How to enable HW-Deinterlacing with PowerDVD 11? With SD-material (25fps interlaced as in SD-TV, DVD etc.), I get hardware-deinterlacing with no problem when I use ffdshow as codec. But when I use PowerDVD11 I don't know how to get automatic deinterlacing to work. Symptoms and setup: Automatic Refreshrate Changer enabled. Set to 50 fps/50 Hertz refreshr-rate for both HDTV, PAL, SD-TV. latest ATI-Catalyst Driver. Set to automatic deinterlacing controlled by application in CCC-settings --> Video Mediaportal: CoreAVC or ffdshow DXVA for HDTV. Works 100% fine and gives out 50Hz progressive according to my TV-set (displays 1080p received) and to VMR9 Shift "1" display. Now I switch to interlaced SD-material. With ffdshow as video codec as decoder result is 100% fine. TV-set shows still 1080p data coming. PVR9 Sgift "1" also shows 50 fps. Test-samples show that deinterlacing works very good. But when I use PowerDVD11 as video decoder PVR9 Shift "1" tells me 25 fps (!) and there is definitely no deinterlacing visible. Settings in MP-configuration: - The checkmarks in the Codecs & Renderer settings for PowerDVD11 are set to "Use hardware accelerator" - In the TV-section of MP-Configuration fallback deinterlace method is set to "Best" - In SAF I have set PDVD --> DXVA On/Green light (though there is no feedback sound or message when I change between On <-> Off) My TV-set still says 1080p-data are coming! So apparently the ATI-driver doubles the frame rate from 25fps to 50 fps (otherwise my TV would tell me 1080i) but doesn't do any deinterlacing. Worse still it looks like a kind of combing artefact. Where is the trick? Kind regards
