Same Album listed several times (1 Viewer)

Hallo,
in my MP several album get listed serveral times if the songs have different interpreters. Means 12 different Interpreters is resulting in the album is getting listed 12 times.
In Music View I have selected Album. As a sorting Album as well. In Music sort Album only contains %Album%.
Not sure what else I can do?

Is there a different way to define what the componens of a Music views like "Album" are? The Manual doesn't mention anything but the Music sort options.

I think this may have got a little confused in translation as I am not sure what interpreter is but I guess it is artist or album artist (band) ?

If you are using the artist database view then you will get a list of artists first and then if there multiple artists on the album it will appear under each artist.

If this is compilation albums with multiple artists, are they all in one folder per album? If so have you ticked this option in the config application?

If you have a compilation with many artists, for "Album" view, use "Album Artist" for the "sort by" field instead of "Artist". Make sure you have all of your compilations tagged like this:

Example | A fake compilation album with 80's hits. "Now That's What I Call The 80's"

Track: "Forever Young"

Artist: "Alphaville"

Album Artist: "Various Artists"

Album Title: "Now That's What I Call The 80's"

Disc #: 1 of 2

The last tag is also important, as if you don't have this correctly, MediaPortal will show the TWO instances of the same album.

That solved my problem. Although in an unexpected way. But it solved it!

What I still don't understand is why artists always gets displayed on the album level. But now it automatically combiles them into "various artists". As said, that solved my problem.
