Hi, i was thinking that maybe a new feature MP could have is a simple "save your configuration" button. I find that configuring all MP to work perfectly for your system, movies folders, music folders, every single checkbox, etc and then loosing all of this in case of having to format the computer is not very good.

just make it so MP creates a configuration file you can then save and once you install again MP you can just open that file and settings come back to where u saved them.

hope you take it into consideration if u think is a good idea.

    thanks

ps. keep the great work you are doing !! its amazing.

I think if you'll copy all the XML files (from the MediaPortal home folder) from the previous installation to the new one - it will preserve all your configurations.

I have done it only to a couple of files that I needed, but I haven't tried to test your specific scenario

i was told in another post that there are many other files to be saved also. thats why it would be cool to have the program save a file with all the config and then be able to restore it.

Not only that but a ave/restore configuration would be very useful when switching to a new version of MP. It might not always be safe to copy configurations files if there has been new configuration options added. Using a configuration save/restore feature could take care of that.

You can save just about everything when (actually before) installing SVN, can't you?

I am tired of re-running config after every SVN update to delete "group"-lines in music views.
