Summary:
EPG update from DVB-T stream can cause stuttering. Add feature to enable EPG to be grabbed automatically at a pre-scheduled time.
Description:
Stuttering of the TV picture (and also audio) on lower-spec machines is a significant problem. One of the causes is the grab of the EPG from the DVB-T stream. The problame can be solved by switching off the EPG grab facility, but that leaves us without an EPG.
The requested feature would start up MediaPortal (in the same way it is started to make a recording) at the same user-specified time everyday, grab the EPG from the DVB-T stream, and then close it down again.
Typically, the time for the grab would be set to some time in the night when no one was likely to be using the system.
Outside of the scheduled period, EPG grabbing would be switched off, helping to reduce stuttering.

Many thanks for giving us the opportuinity to request enhancements.
