Message: <blockquote data-quote="poppabk" data-source="post: 373436" data-attributes="member: 54649"><p>The server version is free and the install is automated.  I too shied away from TV server when I started out , because it used to involve the separate set-up of the database software.  As it stands now, you shouldn't really notice any difference - the one feature I remember losing was if you are timeshifting a program and press record half way through, TV server will only record from that point on whereas MyTV would use the timeshift buffer to record the entire show from the start.  Other than that it is much imporved and as it runs as a service, recording can happen even if you don't have mediaportal itself running.</p></blockquote><p></p>
