I currently use schedules direct to get my standard def channels... however, it doesn't fill out the hd portions in the tv guide. I only get the local stations in HD like nbc, cbs etc through my cable company along with their standard def counterparts. Can I use schedules direct to fill out the standard def section and then set the epg grabber to only update the hd channels without it destroying my current listings? Or maybe some other program that I'm not aware of will do both? It just annoys me that I have to set my HD recordings manually. I suppose I could just switch to the epg grabber or something else, but I still have a schedules direct membership for a while and would like to use that if possible since it's paid for. Thanks.

You may get better help if you post your question here, where patrick the writer monitors. When you log in to SchedulesDirect site and view your provider's linup, can you see the HD channels listed? I do not see mine. I only see the SD channels. But for me it doesn't matter because I only record under SD. But for you this could be the problem.

Set up another channel profile on Schedules Direct.

Choose OTA, & it should list all the channels for your area including HD. Remove all non-HD channels from this profile.

Rename the HD channels from your scan, so that their name (call letters) matches the one listed on the OTA channel list.

Next time SD plugin grabs EPG data, it should automatically associate the channels with the HD guide data, based on call letters.

I use 3 channel lists on Schedules Direct. One for my local cable feed, & two different zipcodes in Buffalo to get the listings for all the OTA HD channels I can get.
