Since it probably is difficult letting Windows own screensavers 'take over' when idle time runs out, why not a plugin or something similar that makes use of windows own screensavers(.scr files) and starts the choosen .scr when MP has been idle for a specified time - like a screensaver in a program.

Or maybe this would work in a way that i havent figured out yet?

I think the windows screen saver should work fine. I don't actaully use a screen saver but if you want the screensaver to kick in when MediaPortal decides to blank the screen then you could use this little plugin I just whipped up. Don't know if it is really of any use, but hey, if it does what you want, great. Just put the dll file in the Plugins\Process folder and it will launch your selected windows screen saver when mediaportal would otherwise be blanking the screen.
