Just one question left - not related to the current version, but in general:
If I use PureAudio, I have to leave my Screen (Plasma via HDMI) turned on to listen to music,
whereas the bass engine works without screen.

Not sure what you mean, why can't you turn the sreen off while the music is playing?

hmm I don't know, as soon as I switch off my Plasma the pluIn stopps playback.
As I said bass dosn't - what can be the reason?


I always thought it is caused by the PlugIn.
Background:
the bass player is using default direct sound -> SPIF -> Amp -> works even when screen is off
the PlugIn is using Tascam 144 (an external card, not default sound device) -> Coax -> Amp -> ONLY works when the screen is on

Olli: could you recreate the log with logginglevel set to 'Debug'? Pls make sure the screen switching off and back on is logged.

Thanks, I will but not before the next weekend as I am on a project right now - without any (remote) access to my MP.
I I understand you right - it should work to listen without using the screen? If so I guess my Tascam ASIO driver is hooked
to the graphic driver...

What i make of it: playback in this log is stopped by an external plugin, probably the MCE replacement plugin.
Could that be the case?

hmm, I don't think so - because the bass player didn't stop the playback.
I will check it out later, as soon as I am home again.

Hello Olli,

I have got a similar problem to yours, but in my on my system musics stops even I use the bass Plugin (and an analog Audio Output). I think it is a problem (feature to prevent Dx crashes) with MP to switch off the Audio when the hdmi device is removed. There are several Threads describing this type of problem. But you are the first one Audio Playback is not stopped by Mp. Maybe you can post what kind of Sound devices you use ?

Hi Bitbusta,

I am using a Tascam 144 as device for PureAudio PlugIn - digital out (koax).
The default direct sound device is a C-Media - digital out (SPIF).
I have sound with alll MP applications via default direct sound when the screen is switched off - even TV.
