You need to scan your files, so that they are in the Music Database.
Read the Sticky entry in this foruim section named "Guide to the music section of mediaportal".
It explains everything that needs to be done.
Then grab the "Global Music Search" plkugin from the "Plugin + Extensions".
Once this is installed, the "Search" button from within the Music section allows to search your music library
I have tried Global search, i just don't think it works that well.
i would like something simular to wi namp. where i can open all my tracks in one playlist, and make a search for the one i would like to hear
Well then use the Tracks view, which will list all tracks and then you can use the SMS style input to find something.
But it won't be a search on any field. it'll just search on the beginning of the name.
if you want something more, you need to use Global search
