select 2 skins for wide and normal (1 Viewer)

what about choosing 2 skins in the settings menu for different resolutions.

for those wo alternate between 2 different screens. like a 4:3 tv and a 16:9 beamer.

so that mp uses the right skin automatically depending on the actual screen.

I hereby give my vote on this...


Since the skin can be changed from within the settings in the running software, some evil code could do it automatically on a screen change.

What would have to be done?:

- a little dialog work in the config:

what about adding a checkbox to each skin in the list? When a skin is checked, all skins with that same aspect ratio would become greyed out. After selecting another aspect ratio (there is three afaik), this one is greyed out as well... The Question is, does the config can tell what aspect ratio a skin has (from the xml files)?​

- the functionality itself:

Since i'm just using one display, i'm lacking some info on this...
But basically when the screen size (aspect) changes in any way, the software would just need to apply the preselected skin according to the new resolution. Or am i missing something here?​

PS: This would be the perfect solution for anybody having these dope little touchscreens on their case and a big f(l)at plasma/beamer on top of it. How are you guys switching the output display anyway?
