Summary:
Continue to show OSD after playback position has changed
Area:
On-Screen Display
Description:
While skipping forwards and backwards through a video there is a timeout for when the jump is executed. However, as soon as the jump occurs the OSD is hidden. If the timeout for skip-steps is 0 (so that jumping occurs almost instantly), then the OSD is shown very briefly (if at all). In cases where chapter information is available (such as with comskip) jumping to a chapter never shows the OSD. The seamless jumping is nice, but it would be nice to know how far into the video we have jumped.
It would be a nice UI enhancement to control the timeout for the OSD after jumping (either with skip-steps, or chapters) so that a viewer knows how far was jumped and where in the show the new location is.
