Serve media other than Tv (1 Viewer)

Does anyone have sample code etc to enable TvServer to stream other media across a network ? I have noticed that TvServer uses rtsp and having tried different servers (Unreal,Watchme) I found that even though they have sdk's they are a bit limited. Being a mediaportal user for some time now I figure this would be the best way to keep the kids off my PC

I think that only the tv-stream can currently be streamed over the network.

Easiest way at the moment would be to install MP on the kids PC and set up the video/mp3/picture folders to use a mapped network drive.

I tried that with network shares but my wifi network falls over and it jitters terribly. When I use some streaming server
i can connect 3 machines and everyone can watch something different and no hassles. My kids cant read so if i can get pretty pictures then it helps lol...

I think your next best bet will be the following (unfortunately not MP related):

1. Browse to the (network) folder containing the pretty pictures and create a desktop shortcut
2. Whenever the kids are around, just open the shortcut and select "view as slideshow"

I managed to build a little rtsp server using the code to see where the problem lies with streaming other media formats and it seems to be the activex filters, and that is where I got stuck since i have no clue how to write or even add an ax filter to the server. I settled on a different streaming engine for now. Would love to see TVServer support this though
