MediaPortal Version: the most recent one (2?)
Windows Version: server 2003
HDD: 400gb
Memory: 512
Video Card: currently nvidia old DirectX8
TV: Hitachi with svid
GPX input: I have no PCI express slot

Hi there,

I have deleted the bits above which i think aren't needed!

What I am asking it for a list of TV cards/Graphics cards which are compatible with server 2003 software. My setup will be server 2003 machine going into TV via Svideo - but i am unsure of which cards are compatible with media portal and server 2003.

I love media portal, but the card i have in the server at the moment wont play on the TV out as it is an older Direct X that what is needed.

I dont have a massive need for a tvtuner card, as i have sky TV and use that happily as stand alone (ie. not connected to my PC) but what i really would like is a remote control to control MP - and for this i believe i may need a tv tuner card?

Thanks for your help,

kev

yes, that remote solution looks good, but i also need to know which cards are compatible with MP and server 2003. A lot of drivers for XP work on Server2003 but not all of them - what i dont want to do is buy a card which works with MP but not work 2k3 - because not many sites will tell you if hardware is compatible with 2k3.

Be careful. Server 2003 doesn't seem to like the MCE Remote Drivers, at least I could not for the live of me get them to work last time I tried (about half a year ago). They install just fine, but it doesn't react and from what I've read nobody actually got it to work in any feasable manner.

I'm not sure maybe this is fixed/hacked somehow by now, but read up on this first. Or perhaps the Philips clone has different drivers, so this may not be an issue at all.
