maybe you can use some Western-Digital HDD -

they have a "green-line" ... and they use much less power (between 7-10 Watt each)
have only 5400 rpm but makes them work colder than the 7200.
performance is more than ok for a TV-Server
that'll reduce ur power consumation and helps your purse and the nature ;)

BUT - i would use them only if ur server is in the basement or a little extra room - couse they r a little noise (OMHO)

    if u need low-noise and low-power - the best way is 2.5" 500 Gig Notebook HDD's ...
but expensive AND only 500 gig ...

Raid 0 is fine as long as you have a complete backup

doing 2 raid 0 arrays myself 1 as a complete backup
why not just setup a RAID1 system in that case? or even a RAID5?

Because its not a true backup if the backup is in the same case as the originals
and could be lost if something happen to the pc, I dont want them together
    in 1 pc.
