Serverblaster not working anymore? (1 Viewer)

For a while I have been unable to use Serverblaster with TVServer. I have reinstalled whole pc twice, set everything up again with new svn's.

Everything appears to be working but the serverblaster. I can learn my remote codes and even testblast them correctly. However, when using tvserver, it somehow doesnt blast anything, making channel change on STB unavailable.

I've currently got the same problem with the latest SVN (4/3/2007), with the same log output;

ServerBlaster.Send: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Anyone managed to track down what this is?

I wonder if it has something to do with the multiple cards in my machine.

I've noticed in the ServerBlaster configuration for the card dropdownlist. My cards are listed twice, like the following, I wonder if it is somehow picking up the wrong card index;

I will check that. Using it with a recent SVN without a problem.

If you restart the SetupTV, does the list get's corrected?

On the road at the moment... will give it a try when I get home on Friday. But from memory I don't believe restarting the setupTV changed anything... actually rebooting didn't change anything.

I also had the issue with tvcards showing up double. However after a complete reinstall, including winxp, they only show up once = looks correct. This time I chose the MS SQL way, dunno if that makes a difference?

However the problem is still there, with serverblaster not working and the log also still says "ServerBlaster.Send: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I can't reproduce the problems. Will see if I can make some extra logging version to detect what's going wrong.

Keep an eye at the SVNs..

I've tracked down a bit more information, but still aren't working...

The errors I was seeing in the logs disappeared when I moved my serverblaster.dat file from the c:\program files\Media.... TVserver location to the c:\documents and settings\ALl users\..... location where the other configuration and logs go.

That got rid of my exceptions. I also set my configuration back to none,none. Restarted, and that got rid of my double listings in the cards drop down.

Then I cleaned out the database to make my card Ids sequential (numbers were all over the place... 3,7,8,10,11 due to deleting and recreating cards.).

So I had a clean configuration with a correctly selected card, sequential card numbers that matched their respective card ID.

Went to run it up, I see the blaster log entry saying CardId:3 Channel:33 it all looks fine, but still no-go.

Now, I'm running on a single host install, so I have the blaster for the server on the same machine as my MP frontend which is using the MCE remote for navigation.

Is this a possible problem? ie can the server blaster coexist with another application (MP frontend) utilising the MCE remote also?

I know this is a problem with the MCE replacement (for the moment until and-81 implements a workaround), is it possible that this same limitation exists for the standard MCE blaster interface used by ServerBlaster?

I an happy to report that with current tvserver, (tvengine3-03-11-2007--01-12h--Rev13331), the serverblaster works, IF you copy serverblaster.dat to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MediaPortal TV Server .

Mine still isn't working, there are no errors in the log, just doesn't try to blast (don't see the leds flash).
