I downloaded and ran MediaPortal_1.0.2_Setup.exe, checking the "Only download required components" box. Several components download and then the message "There was an error downloading the requested file" pops up. The requested file is "mysql-essential-5.0.77-win32msi. What do I do now?

MySQL released a new version and removed the download-link for the old one. Please try again, the dl-link should be adjusted to the new one.

Same issue again last two days...

    Hi,

I'm rebuilding the P.C. at home and am trying to install MP 1.0.2 again.

But when I get to the stage of downloading the MySQL, it fails.....

    Following the Media Portal> Chapter 2 Installation>SEction 2.4.2 MySQL 5> Installation and then selecting the Download Link I find that the version available there is;

    mysql-essential-5.0.85-win32.msi

    So is this the issue.

Should I just manually grab this version?

Because the doco says "Using MediaPortal 1.0 or above the SQL server is automatically downloaded and configured by the installer. No user action is require".

I tried to redownload the MP install exe to see if that was would fix things, but to no avail....

    Any ideas please

    Regards,

    HEATH

hi, the mysql-download-mirrors are down again as it seems. Ive moved this file to our servers too and adjusted the path for the installer. Please try again (no need to regrab the installer, just restart it).
You can even grab the file manually here

If I manually Grab the file, Is there a particular location that it needs to be stored, to still be configured by the install process?

Or would I then manually install MySQL based on the online install guide?

On another point, is there any way that I can migrate my Ms SQL server databases from an existing install to this new system rebuild?

Many :D for your quick response,

    HEATH
