Hi all,
as I have NO tv-card installed on my MP-System, I can't set the recording path to a network-drive doing it the "normal way" using GUI-Setup. I guess there is an entry in Mediaportal.xml?
I just wanna use MCE remote button "My Recordings" to browse the network-share directly (recordings are done on a LINUX-Box).
Can anybody cut&paste the section of mediaportal.xml (section name = tvrecorded???) so I can adapt the path to my environment.
Current settings:

date

album

yes

Thanks,
Hans

    Hi,

the recordings path is not saved in mediaportal.xml. Its saved on per card basis in capturecards.xml. This fil is only generated, if you have an TV card...

    Hi Flip,
    Thx for your reply.
So I have to install my Hauppauge PVR-250 card on my MP-System, install drivers, do the setup in MP etc. just to modify this path?
May be some on can post me a capturecard.xml? As far as I remember from an old 1.x -Installationen, there have been options to disable a dedicated TV-Card for recording and/or viewing. Hope to get it working with a card definition without installing the whole staff ...
    Thx & Cheers,
    Hans

Map your remote directory to a movie share and change the button mapping for your "My Recordings" button on your MCE remote in configuration.exe to jump to window "My Videos" instead of "My Recordings".

Voilà - no need for a tv card.

One more note: I doubt you would be able to play your DVR-MS via "Recorded TV" in MP, cause that module only plays videos that have been recorded by MP and exist in the database. So you'd have to use "My Videos" anyway.

    Hi mPod,
Thx for the tip! home + a few clicks --> working!
    Cheers,
    Hans
btw : haven't recognized the mapping feature for MCE-remote! From day 1 of my first MP-Installation, MCE remote has been workin "out of the box" and I really had no need to dive into MCE parameters.... .
