I've been using MP from 0.2.3.0, and I was using 1.0 final with no problem till one week ago.

I wanted to try last SVN, and installed 21813. Everything worked fine, and I've been using it till today. I've tried to access setuptv to change some config (I can't remember if I've used setuptv with this SVN successfully), and it has asked me to start TVService... I say Yes, but nothing happens for 5 minutes... After that, I get an error:

    "Failed to startup tvserviceSystem.Net.Sockets.SocketException"

And an error in spanish saying it can't connect to ::1:31456, connection denied.... After that some lines with some System.Runtime.Remoting messages.... (can post a screenshot if it's needed)

    Some data:

    - I don't use any FW (Vista one is deactivated).
    - TVService is working, as I can watch TV.
    - Port 31456 is in listenning mode, as I can see in netstat -oa.
    - I've uninstalled MP and installed 1.0 back (deleting all config and program dirs, so fresh install). Same thing.
    - I've tried using SQL Express (I use MySQL). Same thing.

I can't reinstall all Windows Vista, as I've got little time to play with it, and I have done many fine tunning... :(

Any help what could I try to find what's the problem?

    Thank you so much... :(

I don't understand why TV Client plugin can connect with no problem with TVService, and SetupTv can't... :(

Here you have the logs when I try to start setuptv.exe:

I also have remembered to have installed last vcredist_x86.exe (2008) available (9.0.30729.1) prior to install 21813 (I tried disaster123 modded 21813 before, and he told me to install it). I've tried uninstalling it, same thing.

    bye!

I have exactly the same problem, but on a newly installed Tv-server. 1.0 and latest SVN generate the same problem.

Glad to see that I'm not alone... :(

In my case is not a problem now, because MP is working, and I can see TV with no problems... But if I have to change something or rescan, I won't be able... :(

I'm quite sure it has to do with VC++ Redistributable stuff installed... but I can't go further, no idea what's happening... :( I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling different packages from 2005 and 2008 redistributables... but I'm doing "things" with no sense for me... :(

More tests: I've tried to stop TVService, and run SetupTV... It asks me to start it, I say Yes, and TVService is started with no problems... but no config window, and after 2 or 3 minutes, same f*k*ng error... :(

I can't believe M$ has applied such a major change to the system through a patch saying nothing about it... But yes, I've recovered localhost entry, and solved tthe problem.

    Thank you very much!!!!
