Hello,

I installed MediaPortal and it worked out just fine.
Then i changed TV Card from DVB-S to DVB-T (this shouldnt be of concern).

After reinstalling Windows I installed MediaPortal but with an Error occuring during the installation.
The Message is in German and translated it should mean something like : SetupTV has detected an error and had to shut down. (then you're asked weather or not you want to send the Error Message)

I tryed over and over.
Since the OS is fresh and has just the drivers along with NetFramework3.5,DirectX and a Backup Imaging Tool.

By the way: It doesnt work with any of the 2 SQL Servers.
Since the Server is unreachable the TV Service could not be started.

In Services i couldnt start the TVService because of some dependency problems.

Id be forever greatful if we could solve this problem.

I'm having the same issue. I installed MP and all went well. Then, I had to remove it and reinstalled it due to some video codec issues. Now, setupTV.exe would crash during installation.

    Hi aunghtain

We are unable to guess the cause of such problems without logs so *please* post logs as *required* by our support thread rules. Support threads without logs can be ignored or deleted. In this case use the watchdog with option 3:

    1. Find the "debug mode" link in the "Team MediaPortal" folder in your start menu.
    2. Start it.
    3. Select "option 3" export all currently present logs.
    4. Click "proceed" - this will trigger the watchdog to create a zip file on your desktop.
    5. Post the zip file here.

This should take only a few minutes so there is no excuse, and if you get stuck or don't know how to add an attachment then you can check the watchdog documentation in our wiki -->here<--.

Please note that I'm using windows 2008R2. I know that this is not officially supported. But I was able to install it correctly the first time.

I also wanted to run setupTV.exe by itself. It never got to the point where it pops up a window for database setup.

    Hi again

What I really wanted to see was the details from the system and application event logs. Can you please provide them.

    Hi TeamBKI

    This one?

As far as I'm aware all Terratec tuners should be supported - they have BDA drivers so they should just work. From that same wiki page:

    In general the TV-Server supports

    1. any DVB/ATSC card which has BDA drivers

Terratec tuners are not listed in our wiki because we only list tuners for which we support special functions like DiSEqC or CI menu display. The T Stick is not listed because it doesn't have any of those functions. In fact, many Terratec tuners are Twinhan clones so we support DiSEqC and decryption with the Cinergy C and S2 as well as the H7 etc. even though the wiki might not say that.

If you still have the tuner then you'd be welcome to post logs and I'll happily take a look.

I received the following error when trying to export all available log files through MediaPortal Debug mode option 3.

    log_error.png

    By the way, I'm using

    Media_Portal 1.2.1
    Windows 2008 R2
    Hauppauge WinTV HVR-1800

If you need any other info, please let me know. Thanks!

    Hi again

This error means that you haven't created a MediaPortal configuration file yet. Open MediaPortal configuration, select beginner/advanced mode (doesn't matter), click OK, and then click OK again to close MP config. After that you can run the watchdog again without any problem.
