*bump*

Does anybody else have this problem?
Nobody has looked at the trace I´ve spend. Would be nice to get at least some feedback.

Hi!

I just checked this on 0.2.3 final + latest tvplugin.
No problems here.
I used standby instead of hibernation, but there shouldn't be any difference.

Did u configure it properly ?
Also remember to activate "auto turn on TV".
Maybe check mediaportal.xml to see if those keys are actually set or not.

I think this may be a driver problem kicking you back to the homescreen because it cannot initialise prior to MP grabbing it, you get exactly the same effect if resizing window whilst video running.

Had something similar prior to my standby\Bluescreen bad pooler error on resume.

Cannot prove of course, as just reinstalled Vista, now fine by the way, but it shows even with Vista ability to delete all previous driver settings, it is not infallible and errors can remain.

Hi Guys,

thanks a lot for your feedback.

gibman:
I have activated "auto turn on TV" and that is done properly if I enter MyTV manually from the home screen.
Using standby instead of hibernate makes no difference.

@infinityloop:
I changed XFace to BleuTwoWide and it still does not work

BTW:
I recognized that when I am watching LiveTV and hitting the "power off" button then first LiveTV is ended and then the PC enters standby/hibernate. Could that be the issue that LiveTV is cended?

What do I have to setup other than activating the option in the General tab?

Neither changing skin, or shifting between standby/hibernation should make any difference.

It is quite normal that live TV is turned off when going into a sleep state.

Don't know what to suggest to you :(
It works here with me...running multiseat.

Well I looked at your mp.log

Look for these ;
"ShowLastActiveModule"
"SaveLastActiveModule"

as u can see it saves the module with Id=0 and fullscreen=false.

id=0 is homescreen indeed.
id=1 is tv.

Something is weird here....it should be 1 and fullscreen true.

What happens if u watch TV in fullscreen then hit alt-F4.
Now restart MP...where does it start at now ?

Try and edit your mediaportal.xml file;

yes

1

yes

Now try and start MP ...it should resume fullscreen TV.

MP should act the same regardless if u are going into a sleep state and resuming or if u exit MP and starts it again.

Have it worked before on this PC ?
What stuff did u change ?

Hi gibman,

thanks a lot for assisting me. I really think there is something wrong.

What happens if u watch TV in fullscreen then hit alt-F4.
Now restart MP...where does it start at now ?

MP resumes with LiveTV in fullscreen! So that works.

Try and edit your mediaportal.xml file;

yes

1

yes

Now try and start MP ...it should resume fullscreen TV.

Correct. MP resumes LiveTV in fullscreen! So that works as well.

However, it still does not work after standby or hibernate!

Have it worked before on this PC ?
What stuff did u change ?

I did no use this functionality until now. So it is the first time I am trying to use this.

I have attached new logs. Maybe you can see anything else what's happening after resume from standby...
Or would it be possible to provide me with something that has more debugging outputs?

I have not forgotten u :)

Are u running singleseat or multiseat ?

Could u try and disable as many plugins as possible ?
try powerscheduler first perhaps.

Hi gibman,

I really appreciate your ongoing help here.

1. I am using single seat
2. I followed your advise to disable the powescheduler. I disabled the power scheduler plugin within the MP plugin section and I disabled the power scheduler plugin within the TV server. And now it works! Your a genius ;)

However, this can only be a temporary fix until we find the root cause because with disabled power scheduler, I cannot schedule any recordings anymore :(

I recognized the following that might help to locate the issue:
- With power scheduler enabled:
I press the button labled "PC" + <power symbol> at the upper right corner of my MCE remote to shut down the PC. If the PC is in standby, I press the exactly same button to wake it up. The PC comes up and MP is in the home menu

- With power scheduler disabled:
If I press the "PC" + <power symbol> button on the remote, nothing happens! To shut down the PC, I have to press the button labled "TV" + <power symbol> on the upper left corner of my MCE remote. If the PC is in standby mode, I cannot use the same button to wake it up! I have to use the button "PC" + <power symbol> to wake it up again. And then, MP resumes with LiveTV in fullscreen.

So the question is: Why is it not working with power scheduler enabled. And why do I have to use the different buttons?

Thanks a lot for investigating this further because I would love to have this functionality and I am expecting other to have the same issue...

Attached you will find a new log that I have taken after power scheduler had been disabled (working use case). Hope this helps to analyze the difference. :D
