Show videos in My Pictures (1 Viewer)

This sounds like a fantastic idea, but I can imagine that there could be some difficulties to code it?
I would love to hear some feedback from a developer on this.

One of the team has already got this working.

The question is whether it should become the default (some people feel that 'My Pictures' is for pictures only). Also, we are in feature-freeze, so such a feature will certainly not be included until 1.1.0 is released.

IMHO it should be default.
I think the majority would like to see both pictures and the short films the picture camera can make in one place

Also please add ability to exclude directory, not only include. Like in Picasa.

Also refresh rate changer must work for video in 'My Picture'.

It should be default with to play .mov in my pictures.

I would love the ability to wildcard exlcude a filename / filepath

I have my pictures setup like

\photos\2010\6\%nicephotos%.jpg

and

\photos\2010\6\originals\%uneditedphotos%.jpg

So basically I keep the original pics in the \originals\ folder,
then I colour correct / auto level / crop / remove red eye from my favourite photos and place them in the sub directory

So with pictures I would like to exclude anything with filename/path containing "\originals\"
