Ordered the parts for my HTPC the other day. Here is a list of what I have decided upon:
I have decided on the Silverstone LC19 case due to the small size, and that it will fit in nicely with my stereo system.
I decided on the J&W Motherboard because it has sideport memory (which speeds up the video), and also becasue it is about $40 cheaper than the Gigabyte or Asus equivalents. All the reviews that I have read have also been very good.
It will take me a while to add to this post as the Silverstone case is not currently in stock, and I will have to wait for it, however I should get the CPU, motherboard, and DVD drive in the next couple of days.
I have up until now used a Netgear EVA700 Digital Entertainer, sharing media through my network via Windows Media Player, but this option has a few problems such as dropping out and having to cycle the power between uses, and having to convert all my recordings to MPEG2 before I can play them.
- AMD 4850e 45W CPU
- J&W JW-780UVD-AM2+ Motherboard

- Silverstone LC19 Case
- Silverstone NT07-AM2 Low Profile CPU Cooler
- Sony Slim DVD Burner
- DVICO twin TV Tuner (from my existing PC)
