I bought this case for my HTPC last year and am pretty happy with it. Comes with Imon Remote and VDF (digital display on the front of the case, which can display time, date. cpu& ram useage, email alerts, news, weather etc).

Some thoughts on the Case for anyone interested in one:

    1. it has VERY bright LED's on the front. I found this distracting when trying to watch the TV and so did some googling about it. Many users report that they find the brightness of the LCD's annoying (there are a lot of Google results on how to dim them). Even in a well lit room they're bright. In a dimly lit room they really stand out.

Fixes vary. Some users adding compounds to the front of them to limit the radiation of light. Personally I ended up disconnecting the LCD's completely (the vfd is on when the machine is on, and I dont really need to know when the computer is accessing a hard disk). Variable resistors may be an ideal route but some knowledge of electronics would be required.

    2. The VFD is two lines of text. Our couch is about 3-3.5 metres away from the HTPC and its not possible to read the VFD from that distance. This makes the VFD a bit of a white elephant unless you want to get up from your chair and walk closer to the machine every time you want to read it. Does not appear to be able to be configured to use both lines as one to enlarge the text. The Font cannot be altered as far as I know. I have no idea why it was designed like this or why its still in production in this format, but there you go.

    3. The imon remote is a nice unit with plenty of buttons and a sensible button-layout. Its also very easy to set up with MP. Just a matter of programming the buttons to corresponding keystrokes or importing an existing .imo file (like the one attached). The colored buttons can be programmed with shortcut'r plugin. There's plenty of info in the Forum here about how to do it.

    4. On the upside, the case has heaps of room inside and is very easy to cool. It has space for (I think) 6x 3.5" drives and 2x 5.25" so oodles of available real-estate for storage expansion. Its also full-height so no issues with low-pro heatsyncs or video cards. Cooling is straightforward with 2x 80mm case fans and additional slots at the front of the case for 2 more if required. I also really like the iMON remote which works great with MP.

Basically im happy with the case and I would use it again if I was to build another HTPC, mainly because the price was good ($185AU) if I had a higher budget though, I would look for something with a better front display.

Looking at this case myself purely because of the ability to take 6 drives (HTPC currently has 3 x 1TB and has an immediate need for one more). It's really useful to know about the bright/distracting lights. Thanks.

I have the same case (except without the useless VDF :p ). Great HTPC case.

I have it set at almost ground level on my tv stand so I don't notice the LED...

But I will say that a HUGE and unmentioned plus about the case is the "door" that flips up/down to cover up the disc drives. It is FAR more annoying (imo) to have to see a blinking disc read light on your dvd/bluray drive the entire time you are watching a movie! This also seems to have the added bonus of muffling any drive noise (I can't hear mine at all when watching a movie :) ).

Plus it helps for that "stealth" look, as no one can tell it it is a PC!

I have this case and I removed the LED assembly (quite easy to do) and painted both LED's with white error correction fluid.
    Now their not so bright.

Thanks very much for the post. I'm currently looking at getting a new case for my HTPC and the LC20 is on my short list. I currently have the Antec 2480B which has been a good case (the 2x120mm fan slots are brilliant for keeping the noise down), but I've run out of expansion slots. How do you find the noise from the fans? I'm also looking at the Zalman HD501 which has 120mm fan slots, but I've read reports of people having problems with the optical drive bay not lining up.

I, personally, rarely ever hear the fans. I have one on the CPU, one on the GPU, one on the back of the case and one in the PSU.
However fan noise is like fingerprints every person is different.

The L20 I got was the one with built in IMon and IPad remote.
    I can't recommend the IPad.
I have recently purchased a Hauppauge USB Remote Kit and it is 10 times better IMO than the IPad.
The Ipad "misses" button presses, I couldn't get all the buttons to work correctly and the directional pad on it is VERY sensitive. A lot of times you go to press right to skip forward and you also accidentally get either up or down.
My wife hated that with a passion.
With the Hauppauge all is good.

    Cheers

I have the LC20. I'm happy with it. The LEDs are bright. Be careful with air flow - my case got pretty hot. I've installed SilentX fans for cooling - no noise.

The only problem I'm having is getting the MiniDisplay plugin to work with the VFD. I've followed numerous suggestions from other posts on the board. But nothing seems to work. Has anyone got this working? Could you post MiniDisplay settings, iMon version and settings? THanks.

Yeah mine used to get a tad hot too. Until I put a fan on the rear panel that sucked hot air out of the case.
    Now all is well.

I can get the VFD working in MP BUT, if I have it going the Hauppauge remote has double commands with every button press and as I can't read what the VFD says from my lounge chair it's no great loss.
I agree with Kiwijunglist Soundgraph/Imon gear sux. That's why I purchased a Hauppauge remote.
