I recently had a problem with DVD playback in MP. Any DVD or file with AC3 sound would show the video but no output the audio.
I had no luck searching the MP forums or even the web in general.
I found the solution accidently: In Windows Media Player, click Tools -> Options. Select DVD tab and press Advanced, and ensure the AC3 and DTS decoder settings are set to decode to speakers and not to SPDIF.
I think this would be handy for other people to know if they come across a similar problem, but I couldn't determine the best place to put this information. Any ideas?
