I am having trouble getting my LAN client to see any TV service from my TV server. Single seat works fine though. I have temporarily disabled firewalls on both server and client. Also activated a TV stream on the server and tried Mplayer to play the rtsp stream but this does not work either. (First opened up the tv stream log file to make sure I have the name of the stream correct, e.g. rtsp://192.168.1.4/Stream2.0). Ethereal suggests at this point that packets are being sent between the 2 machines but the server replies it can't find the rtsp stream despite the log file reporting that it is being sent.

I have checked that the SQL database server (using MS SQL) is running and the TV service. I have checked that MSSQL has been configured for LAN access over TCP/IP and named pipes. Anyone any ideas as to what I may have missed configuring the server? Might try MySQL to eliminate any database issues...

Hi swapnerd

Did you solve the problem? Seems that I have the same. Singleseat works fine, but no video stream picked up on the client. I get
RTSPPlayer:Failed to open file:rtsp://SERVER/stream1.0 :0x80004005

The video stream worked yesterday on the client after initial setup. I tried different drivers for my DVB-S card but reverted back to the original one. Now, the streaming is gone also.....

    Both,

I have had the same problem and for me it was that i had a mix of host names and IP addresses... somehow it seems that TVE3 Server or Client does not work properly if this is mixed. I added an entry in the HOSTS file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\) on the client and then it all worked fine... The weird thing is that i could ping both the host name and IP address prior to adding the HOSTS entry but it seems as if MP/TVE3 does not handle this properly. OR, i might be completely wrong here and the problem actually lies in the networking config in Windows...

Your entry in the HOSTS file should look something like.

    192.168.0.198 host_name_of_server

    Anyway, this resolved my problem...

    Cheers,
    Jens

    Hi jensnasholm

its solved. I followed an instruction from Rhys.Goodwin here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...video-t15696p2.html?highlight=no+video+stream

What happened was because I tried different drivers for the DVB-S card to solve some other issues the card picked up an IP address somehow. The TVServer assigned that IP number as the streaming server, not my regular network card. As soon as I changed the IP address of the TV server (in the upper left corner of the TV server management console) back to the regular network card the streaming worked again. ;)

    Thanks for the suggestions.

    Hi Hans,

I checked your suggestion and I had the same issue. For some reason MP has two IP's listed for my PC. One is a rubbish IP (0.1.0.4 or something). I changed it to the correct IP and that fixed part of my errors.
The client still could not play recorded TV or live TV, but when I used system restore to return to a previous time when I could play then all was fine. Before that I had tried system restore but it didn't work, I guess due to the incorrect IP being set when I last updated my TV engine SVN.
