[skin] Confluence [WIP] (1 Viewer)

I have started a skin that will be very similar to the XBMC Confluence skin. It will be a mixture of skins. I am pulling together things I like from...

• Confluence (graphics, concept)
• Maya (Backgrounds, TV Guide)
• Black Glass (fonts)
• StreamedMP (graphics, xml files)

The main idea of this skin will be to leverage the Video Background Auto Switcher plugin to show the video in the background instead of a small window. The other major factor of the skin will be to make it light so there will be ultra smooth transitions (even on my zotac clients.)

Screens Complete:

• TV Home
• Schedules
• TV Guide
• Weather
• TV Series
• Recorded TV
• Moving Pictures
• My NetFlix

For this skin to work correctly, be sure to install:
- Video background switcher - > Video Background Auto Switcher - MEDIAPORTAL

one thing what will be resulation 1920 or 1280 from your screnshots hard to know (....1400 x 900 ... ? )

YSMP: From "StreamedMP (graphics, xml files)", I bet this is 720x1280 (or 768/1366). Sadly there are very few 1080x1920 skins.

Thanks all! It will be slow going, but I will continue on and post progress as I go. Im still looking for someone to co-author, so if anyone is interested please let me know.

I started off with 1280x720. The screen shots are from my laptop which is why they are odd shaped (sorry for the confusion.)

The resolution used will depend on the skin engine. The great MP programmers have added some enhancements, one in paticular is the <shouldCache> tag that will help with image loading (particularly on the Home & Basic Home.) If it works as intended then we should be able to bump up the res to 1920x1080 with little ill effect. One of the main objectives of this skin is it work as fluid as possible.

EDIT: I also wanted to add that most of the XML files used are being modified from the Blue3Wide skin. I have borrowed some XML coding from StreamedMP for transitions and such (They have done WONDERFUL work with transitions in that skin.)

I have updated the first post with updated screenshots.

I have been trying different approaches to how the information should be displayed, and I feel good about how its coming. On the Home page, the recent recordings will show unless a video is being played. The 'Now Playing' info is displayed in the lower left on the Home page. On sub pages, since there is no preview window, I have decided to put the 'Now Playing' info on the fly-out menu's (see the Weather page on the first post.) This follows the Confluece skin concept.

Now that I am familiar with how Im going to do the fly-outs, etc., I think I am ready to continue on to more pages.

I'm trying to stay true to the original XBMC Confluence skin, but I'm also adding some of the MP specific features (like image reflections, etc...)

I have created a code page on Google Code so folks can follow the progress and download the SVN if they want to play with it first hand. I will add it to the first post when I copy the code out there tonight.

I have updated the first post with some new screenshots. I hope to put the files on Google code this weekend if anyone is interested in looking at the early version to see if its something they like.
