Skin: MP Gold 1366x768 0.2.2.0 (1 Viewer)

I have started to develop this skin for my personal use, but it may be of interest for the community.

I like the straight forward layout of Blue Two and the professional colors of Dark Metal and I added a small touch of the MP logo's gold, hence the name.

The skin is 1366x768 and made for version 0.2.2.0 (it uses the new animations). It may be of interest for those wanting a wide version of the dark metal screen too.

I have started out from Blue Two Wide, re-worked and re-colored many of the graphics and also made many improvements to the .XML files (more use of 'common' definitions, new animation functions, consistency between screens, corrections for the wide aspect ratio, etc).

The skin is not ready (by far). I have only done the screens that I regularly use. If you like the skin and want to use it, let me know what areas still need to be changed for you and I'll put it on my list.

Next I want to change the top-bar looks and make the animations between skins consistent.

There is also an alternative basichome screen. You can find it as 'basichome (alternative).xml'. If you rename this to 'basichome.xml' it will become your basichome screen. You can always go back using the 'basichome (standard).xml' file.

Yes, that wouldn't be bad.

One of the reasons I started to develop my own skin where the imperfections in the B2 (wide) skin. The default MP skin should be perfect to be worthy.

I have commented all changes (to the XML files) I made, it shouldn't be too difficult to separate between the basic improvements that should be back ported to B2 and the true changes that makes MP Gold a different skin. I'll be happy to give my input and to work on all the rest.

Who 'owns' the current Blue Two Wide skin?

I'm glad you are interested. And I'm still very much working on it.

Takes a little longer as anticipated. I can spend less time on it then I would have hoped. More importantly, going through the XML files I'm finding so many possibilities and so many opportunities I just can't stop myself!

The concept hasn't changed though. The basis is done (basichome, home, music, radio, TV, video, pictures, programs and weather), just needs some tweaking to make it perfect.

I'll try to release the version I have now in the weekend. Then you can have another look and give me feedback.

I have tried to upload the skin ...

Followed mpod's 'Skinners: Uploading Skins' guide.

After filling out all the fields typing the description etc. started uploading and then 20 minutes later get a message 'not authorized'. Why did it not tell me that to start with ...

I'll figure this out when I have more time.
