Skin project: Core (2 Viewers)

Hi,

Update 2007-07-17:

Added screenshots of the new progress bars and OSD's. Also fixed some smaller issues on various screens. These will be uploaded in Core 0.2 today. So keep your eyes open for that.

Basic information:

The plan is to create a good looking, clean skin that supports the basics of mediaportal, hence the name Core. Please comment as much as you wish as all help and ideas are welcome.

I run this skin on a 42" 1024x768 Plasma screen and it looks nice... I have borrowed a lot of ideas from other skins, mainly spinsafe revolve. There are also borrowed artwork from other skins like foofaraw. I hope this is ok for the designers of these skins, if not let me know...

Updated information:

All skin files for the functions on basic home including submenus are now done. There are a lot of fixing to be done on dialogs, settings etc. but I use the skin now and I am quite happy with it.

The target audience for this skin is users running MP on a big 16.:9 screen using a remote. I guess there is a lot of support currently missing for mouse and/or keybord users. This can however be implemented with a little support from you all.

There is a lot of debate about font sizes in the forum. Currently the plan is to finalise this big screen version and after that create a second Core with bigger fonts.

I have now uploaded a version to test so lets be active to make this skin perfect!

Looks realy great.
I dont like the background do, IMO i think it would look better in a more darker and more solid color.
Keep up the good work.

Looks awesome. I really like the colours, but the stripes is kinda nausea-inducing. Like mirk has pointed out already, a more solid colour is better.

Thanks for all the feedback. I kind of like the striped background but I agree that it is a bit too bright... I darkened it a bit and that was an improvement.

If you have any good background tips please let me know!

I will post more updates as I proceed... Next will be to update all overlays!

This looks very promising, but I agree with Mirk about the background.
A solid color would look better imo.

Oh and if you did not know; if you rename your movies with 2 files to "...cd1.avi and ...cd2.avi" You dont get two covers in your list like on one of the previews..
MP will then know that there is two files (or three) and play them in the right order. And still only show one cover/movie.
