Skin Repository Updates and Download count (1 Viewer)

I have some questions about updated entries in the Skins section in the Repository:

1. Is it possible to change the name of the skin in the Skins Repository without it creating a new entry?

I remember when I tried it in the past, I ended up with multiple entries for the skin. I want to add the version number to the skin to make it easier for users to know it is a new version. But I don't want to clog up the repository with multiple entries.

2. How can I edit/update text in the submission?

If I make a typo in the descriptions or just want to add some details, I cannot seem to change it and update the submission without resubmitting the download file.

3. How can I update screenshots/thumbnails?

If I delete a screenshot and add an updated one, the old one often keeps reappearing no matter how long I wait for the submission to be updated. Sometimes when I am first adding screenshots, it will do the same thing, just keep adding a previously added screenshot instead of the new one I have submitted.

4. What am I doing wrong?

5. What happened to the 7 day download count?

Over a year ago, High reported: "I've added a list of the last 7 days next to the new files list in repo."

1. yes it is. Mutiple entries only come up when you change the name completely. The script doesnt show me if its an update or if its a new entry. So I need to search the repo for a similar name.
amPED 0.9 to am-PED 1.0 = problem as I always search for the main name
amped 0.9 to amPED 1.0 = no problem
mostly I remember about an existing file but if its a complete namechange..send me a PM please

2. text-updates require a new upload. Always. And even a new approval so hammering 20 edits in an hour doesnt really help me getting anything done

3. Screenshots are even gone after an update (as an updated file is treated like a new one, it just copies over name/description, dl-counts etc). Reuploading the pics after an update should solve any problem, if not, send me a PM with the filelink. Workaround: include them in the description

4. nothing, take a deep breath and ignore the scriptproblems as its the only one we have until the page update is through

5. had to be deactivated as it cause far more load to the server then it helps anything. (complete tablescan over a log-table with 200MB after 7 days with every access). New scriptversion fixes the performance-issues.

1-5 are fixed in my testrig but pending as other basics have to be done for a renewed hp first.

*Insert once again a call for a talented webdesigner or contentwriter, that does not simply disappear after xx days while we are waiting for promised work right here*

Thanks High, great reply! I'm breathing deeply Sorry about all the updates. I had a devil of a time figuring out how to get links to work in the description, I promise I won't do that again! (Now I figured it out) And there I was not wanting to bug you by PMing you and I ended up causing you more work!

About putting screenshots in the description - I'll think about it. I love the rotating sample screenshots on the main page which you don't get with description screenshots. I can usually get them to work, as long as I get them all right first crack.

Glad to hear you have some progress on your test rig - there's hope!

OMG another developer bit the dust? What are you doing to them LOL! Seriously, that's terrible, the poor repository is like the ugly cousin of MP! I really wish I had the skills to help! I know the developers have been trying so hard to get it fixed!
