As i usually listen to large mp3-files which last up to several hours (eg. DJ-sets, Classic) a function to skip within a mp3 file would be very helpful. ideal would be an adjustable skip-time. For listening to music i use a small program called billy and i use the skip function far more often than fast forward, which in my eyes is a relict from old hifi-days.
I agree with frodo's article, that all this playlist stuff is way to complicated.
Nevertheless, Mediaportal is an excellent Software.

Yeah, i often listen large mp3 trance sets(ASOT from Armin Van Buuren, etc) a function like jump or something like it(+30sec,+1min,+5min,+20min) would be useful. Is is possible to implement it? Or is some way how to make it in version 0.2? Thx for help

And of course...MP is the best soft i have ever tried!!!!

we're working currently on a new internal music player. This will have the ability to step inside files.

Thats good news, I listen to lots of DJ sets too and would love this feature. Smooth fast forward would be even better.

I also listen to many of these sets and have cue files for lots of them as well.
What I would love is to be able to jump around a track based on a cue file. Would work the same way as DVD chapter.
