I think everything stems from the fact that the wrapper isn't being installed.


I just did some experiments, with the Skype 3.2.0.175 and 3.5.0.214 install packages.  It appears that Skype4COM isn't installed unless you install the Extras Manager.


Assuming you haven't, on the first Skype installation wizard page, Click the Options button in the bottom left corner, and then make sure the "Update Skype Extras Manager" checkbox is set, then press Install.


You should hopefully then find the DLL in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Skype\Skype4COM.dll, and the plugin should work (crosses fingers)...
