Hi,

I would like MediaPortal to support the use of the network driver of the Technisat Skystar 2 instead of the BDA driver.

The problem is that with the BDA driver, the card can't tune transponders with a SR of 30000. Because of this I can't tune a lot of channels on Hispasat.

As I think it's a problem with the BDA driver, and can only be fixed by the manufacturer the support for the network driver would solve this issue. I contacted Technisat and they told me to use the network driver, and it works.

Please include support for the driver on the next release of MP.

Thanks.

Don't you think technisat should move forwards rather than Mediaportal moving backwards?

How is adding better support for a device moving backwards?

The network driver is better than the BDA one.

mdsflyer is correct. A quick search here would have told you that the (BDA) SS2 isn't the best card for bad reception situations.
    So either:
    - get a card with better drivers
    - use SS2's WDM drivers with the old tv module
    - improve your reception

    Hi

I also have issues with SS2 and MediaPortal (i tried version 1.0.1 and 1.02). Can you tell me on what you mean when said 'old TV module'?

Btw, you are absolutely right about technisat and their support. SS2 is good card in general, but their BDA drivers are terrible! They just don't work, even after a few revisions...

    Thanx

I found old engine - TVE2. IT works like charm, much better than new TVE3 (at least for me). Anyone have idea why TVE3 cause garbage on picture (like missing parts of data stream), and TV2 don't?
