Hi there,

I got a SkyStar2 with the newest BDA beta driver, latest MediPortal RC and latest TV Server Engine V3. I installed the TV Server correctly (the videos are very detailed) and tried to get some channels.
I have to say, that I found some channels with other programms - but not with MediaPortal (TV Server Engine V3).

I'm behind a DiSEcQ Controller which you can find here: http://www.irrealdesigns.com/rb/blog/wp-content/sat-anlage.jpg
I tried all DiSEcQ options (None, SimpleA, SimpleB, Level1AA, ...) but without a positive result.

I have recognized that my signal quality is very low. :( (look at the attachments)
Is there anything I can do? I it the right satellite i choose (I'm from Germany, Darmstadt)?

Thanks for help. :) :D

BDA drivers don't formally support the Diseqc protocol as written by MS. But as you have a SS2, you can install the WDM drivers (I'm using the latest 4.4.1 beta's) and they work well with TVE3.

it's true ss2 bda beta = no diseqc support :-( They told me they might include vendor specific support in the next release that was 6 months ago :-(

Technisat released a new test version two weeks ago. The new version number is 4.4.1 RC2. I installed the new bda driver today and I recognized a difference to the old bda driver. The new driver is also recognized as a "Generic BDA card". This means that the TvServer will to use its generic DiseqC support, which could also work for the SS2.
    I can't test it, since i don't need DiseqC.

The picture quality is the same for me.
The performance is also the same, but I should mention that I have a great performance with the combination of bda drivers, TsReader and TvServer. Channel switching is ~1-2 sec and with the new drivers I think that the channel switching speed is improved again (~1-1.5 sec).

From my point of view there is no big difference between the two version of the bda drivers except that the TvServer recognize them as "Generic BDA card".

Tried the new 4.4.1 RC2 WDM drivers for the skystar2.

No luck. My channels end up garbled when watching them over VLC.

I updated the driver by hand. In other words, I went into device manager. Found the SS2 device, rite clicked. Update.
    Point to location. blabla.

It update fine, and tve3 finds the card ok. It can even tune a channel. But the result is garbled video as I said.

Any difference if choose the setup installer instead ?

Ok, I did a proper install. running start.exe from the ZIP archive of the driver + a reboot.

    Now it owns again :)
