Slooooow startup... (1 Viewer)

I'm just evaluating MediaPortal but I'm having a few problems:

1) The program is really slow to start. It says something like "initialising TV" or something like it. How do I stop this? Although I have a TV card in the machine, I'm really not interested in using it anyway!

2) Everytime I go to the audio / music section, MP seems to import/ index/check all the songs in teh directory. As I have over 10k, this is also taking a long time. How can I stop this and is it really necessary every time I go to the music section?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

Hi homeyjay, and welcome to the forum
Short answer:
0 - Allways attach system specs and logs. See end of my post
1 - If you set MP up to ue TV, the it will try to connect to the TVServer. I guess this is what happens to you. You could try to start TVServer config (passord: MediaPortal, user: SA). This way TVServer will at least ative, and won't slow down startup (although you should have installed without).
2 - Are uyou using a database view? Like "Artis", "Album" etc? This will make things much smoother - and much better! You need to: A)Make sure your music files are tagged correctly B) Enter congif and scan your files
