Hello,

I am experiencing slow startup times with Mediaportal, especially on the 'Initializing input devices' part. What could be causing this?

System specs can be found under
<------ My system

If any more info is required, feel free to ask. Logs are included :)

Thanks in advance,
Zinu.

    Hi Zinu

    MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\windows\MovingPictures.dll
    2009-02-19 01:18:57.000000 [Info.][MPMain]: File Version : 0.7.1.513

Maybe related to this thread. You can temporarily disable Moving Pictures to confirm.

    Hope that helps :)

It looks like the problem in that thread is more about loading the plugins, not the input devices.
    Thanks though :)

    Hi,
I don't know if my problem is related, but I have a similar problem on 2 different machines, especially "inizializing texture manager" is causing delays on the first start of about 5 minutes.

    cheers

Check the main Media Portal log file and the timestamps on the left side. Look for large gaps in time. On mine for instance, there was a 2 minute gap while it was doing something with textures or cache files or something. But that was only the one time after updating from 1.0.0 to 1.0.1.

Large gaps will indicate that the previous timestamp was doing something for a long time. Post here what that is/those are.
