    Scenario:
1 TV Tuner. TV Tuner is currently recording on channel A (in the background, i.e. scheduled recording). TV is not currently being shown via MP Client.

User selects the TV or Guide in MP Client.

Currently after a few seconds a dialog box will be shown informing the user that all tuners are busy, and then show a blank TV screen.

    Suggestion:
When entering TV or Guide, the channel being recorded should automatically be shown, as opposed to showing a dialog and then showing nothing.
Alternatively, the dialog should prompt you that a show is being recorded, and ask whether you would like to watch it from Live, or from beginning.

i.e. "Tuner is currently busy recording on channel [channel name]/[show name]. Would you like to view a) live b) from beginning"

Handling of this scenario with multiple tuners would need further thought.

Actually, what tvserver currently does is that it tries to tune channel that was last viewed on current tv-client. If show being recorded at the same mux it does display the last viewed channel (like it should). If show being recorded is on another mux, then it does just what you told us. I also think is a bit annoying and what I'd suggest would be something like this when entering myTV with recording going on:

-If on same mux, show last viewed channel (like the way it is now).

-If NOT on same mux and no free tuners available, show channel being recorded. It would be more logical to display last viewed channel on recordings mux but keeping track of that much data could be little difficult (you could have hundreds of different muxes on sat which could slow things down). It's not impossible, but would require rearranging for tv-database to keep track of this.

I personally hate that popup on tvclient, regardless what it tells :) I'd prefer background picture in place of tv-image to display errors (like it's done on almost every STB). There would be image and text like channel is scrambled, too weak signal etc. That way we also could get away of that annoying popup we really don't want. With background image we would be informed and no need for user OK-confirmation.

Also, at current implementation when tuner gets "stolen" by scheduled recording, MP leaves you with frozen picture instead of telling user what's happening. Informative background image could help there too :)
