Hi everybody,

I'm trying to figure out what's happening with my configuration. When i start MP, everything is fine, but, usually after 20 to 40 minutes, the sound starts to have gaps, and the images just follow the sound, and i have frozen images.

I already have tried V0.2.2 (raw), and the same version with various svn installed (about 10), and the problem persists. I also performed MP fresh reinstall (with and wihtout codecs)

I have tried to use onboard audio chip (AC'97), and right now, i'm trying with my old SBLive value. Still the same.

For Audio, i have tried so far MPA, DSCaler (those from mp install), ffdshow , ...
DScaler does not work at all.

I have also tried various resolution (720*576 @ 50 Hz, 1024*768 @ 75 Hz, 1280*720 @ 60 Hz) but the problem is still there.

I have the problem with DVB-T and DVD. The analog TV doesn't work either, but is often fails immediatly, by giving me a slow motion pictures with no sound at all. After restarting TV (off + on from MP menus), the analog TV usually works again, but then fails after the same 20 minutes...

CPU usage is usually low (below 50 %)

Yesterday, i donwloaded graphedit, but right now, i'm still reading the forum to find how to use it :)

In the meantime, if you have any hints, i would be most grateful !!

I've just seen that microsoft has released a patch that may be helpfull for a part of my problems : KB896626

I will try that this evening...

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/896626/en-us

SYMPTOMS
You may experience the following symptoms when a DirectShow TV tuner program is tuned to receive a Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) video stream on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP 2):
- The TV tuner program stops responding.
- The TV tuner program displays stuttering or corrupted video.

So, i have installed the patch, but, unfortunally, i have also done some other things, so i don't know what fixed the problem :

1. Microsoft Path install + some updates for MCE that i didn't notice before
2. Complete reinstall of MP 0.2.2 (without the SVNs) + rescan of DVB-T channels.
3. I used the ScanChannelsBDA tool to adjust my signal quality (I have recently installed a small amplifier). In fact, my previous signal quality was poor and fluctuating (from 60 % to 45 % !) Right now, the best i could get is a steady 65 %, which seems enough.

So, i let MP run in backgroung,m with and without timeshifting, and, so far, everything is fine.

I will now include analog channels, and let you know if the problem is solved.

Well, after a long search i think i finally found what the problem really was.

In fact, after upgrading everything piece of software to the latest version, and still experiencing stuttering TV image and sound, I tried to force the ventilation of the computer.

So, i took my 60cm fan (not a computer one) and direct it in the opened PC. And finally, it worked like a charm for some hours.

So, my problem was definitively solved by changing the case (I bought a Silverstone Lascala L16) a by having everything well cooled.

In fact, i don't know if the problem comes from a chipset that was too hot, or the Tuner card, but the problem is gone.

:D for a great software !
